Awesome Blog: I keep a diary
He tried to hide his smile and tried his best to play-off my subtle hand off with that look that everyone gets when they’re like “Holy moly, this is just like a secret agent movie!” Just before he slipped the bill in his pocket, he couldn’t resist a peek and glanced down at the bill. His eyes instantly got huge and he did a what looked like a vaudeville double-take. For a...

As usual Jeff Atwood is dead on. Gruber is very much an apple kind of guy and the way he’s been running markdown is a shame. The catch here is that the article is about how Markdown is an example of…
Watching the iPhone to Android migration path
So I’ve been watching Android a lot lately, the Droid in particular. In general I’ve been hoping for Android equivalents for my favorite applications and happily it seems like every few weeks I get a new app crossed off my list. NPR streaming just showed up it doesn’t look as good as the iPhone’s, but it’s something.

Why are Europeans white? →
I’ve always wondered this, very interesting.
Tells why northern Europeans are so oddly de-pigmented compared to everyone else on the globe. Session E1 of a series of topics discussed by the Second Life “The Study of Racialism” group. It is part of our molecular anthropology series. The prior session, E5 discussed the migrations that carried our species around the globe in...

Great little computer animated short film from Rodrigo Blaas. Another example of Vimeo having stellar content.
Side note. TOTALLY TERRIFYING.

Excellent set of apps. No google voice still really burns me. Maybe enough to Jailbreak.
Stereotyping people by their favorite author
For example:
Dan Brown: People who used to get lost in supermarkets when they were kids. Dave Eggers: Guys who are in the third coolest frat of a private college. Terry Goodkind: People who have never been dungeons master but still play D&D. Douglas Adams: People who bought the first generation Amazon Kindle.
The full list is online. Both Eggers and Adams hit kinda close to home …

Bon Iver does a good job but there are just so many great performances in here. I’ve been listening to them all morning while I work.
Every week, we invite an artist or a band to play in the streets, in a bar, a park, or even in a flat or in an elevator, and we film the whole session. Of course, what makes the beauty of it is all the little incidents, hesitations, and crazy stuff happening...

I like vimeo a lot, it has taken a long time to grow on me but I think it’s content sets it apart. It has gained a reputation as catering to a high end, artistic crowd which I think is to it’s benefit.
When I poke around YouTube I end up watching fail blog. On Vimeo you find little stories like this one…
